The turtle pond seems to fascinate many visitors to the garden, as well as gardeners. Maybe it’s because our two turtles are so reclusive. When you do get a glimpse of one of them, they slip back underwater in a nanosecond, leaving you to ponder what they do down there at the bottom of the pond. The goldfish are fine, but the turtles are much more interesting.
Jim Pender has been patiently trying to photograph them and finally got a couple of shots. Looking at the marking on their heads, it’s pretty clear that both turtles are still there.
